Security for online transactions
When you use a debit/credit card for purchases, please note that this process is serviced not by the "Webgastronom.com" but by a selected secure online payment processing facility - "Nochex.com". As shown on the screenshot on the right hand side: (a) the address of the server is not "Webgastronom.com", but "Nochex.com"; (b) the protocol being used for this connection is https, where 's' means the connection is being made via SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) - encrypted protocol.
Any information, transmitted during the payment by debit or credit card will be encrypted using the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), with the highest commercially available encryption key length of 128-bits provided by Verisign.
All sensitive information is held in an encrypted form on our servers using the Blowfish encryption algorithm. Each NOCHEX account has its own unique encryption key to protect that account. Your information is held on servers that are hosted with one of the UK's leading ISP's in a highly secure data environment, used by many UK high street and Internet banks.
The NOCHEX service has been developed using a unique application engine, unknown to the general programming community. It offers a secure platform to build our service on. More information about the security arrangements can be viewed here.
"Webgastronom.com" does not collect or keep data from your debit/credit cards. During the payment process we only receive a notification from the Nochex system whether the payment was successful or not.
This is, inother words, a voucher (for selected sum of money), that can be bought and given to someone. Immediately, from the website the certificate can be emailed to a selected recipient. The owner of the certificate can redeem its value against purchases at our shop. This is being done during the checkout, see screenshot on the right hand side - enter the certificate's code, click the 'Update' button and the total cost of purchases will be recalulated as follows:
(Subtotal) = (Cart total) - (Value of certificate).
As an option you even can attach a selected product(-s) to the certificate. - For example, you decided to give your friend a 'combined' present as a £40 certificate plus a bottle of wine. Your recipient will receive an email with the certificate's code. When your friend will visit our website, fill-in the shopping cart and enter the certificate's code the system will (a) automatically re-calculate the total sum of the order minus value of the certificate, (b) the pre-paid by yourself selected bottle of wine will be added to the order.
So you can buy and give a certificate, or a certificate with selected goods attached, or ... not to buy anything - it is your choice. But the choice is there.
